Neotel WiMax versus uncapped business ADSL

Don't know about the quality of the product, but competition is always good.

just a pitty neotel is rolling it out and not a company with an inkling of how to provide customer service or a proper billing system.

Please tell me how should I trust a company with my internet connection that can't even keep their website up?

Ja... it's all well and good to say they are the cheapest... but what about the headache Factor?

Neotel's products come with a lifetime guarantee of frustration, faults and failure!

Yay we can give you 8mb to your house... Pity our backend network only lets us give you 40kb ....................................

Is it possible to create some kind of "Consumer Confidence Index" for each of these ISPs? That might give one a more complete picture as to what you're actually purchasing when signing up for one of these products/services.

Website

I was just wanting to find out more details, and of course their website was down for 'maintenence' for 12 hours, now that it is up, there are no signs of this anywhere, and their search function doesnt work.

Not really the sort of thing to try inspire trust in your network, when your website doesnt even work.

Does anyone have comparative contention ratios on the Wimax and business ADSL offerings? And as the current Seacom outage has taught us to ask, what international links are used by the various ISPs?

I would just like to add that this is BS im a home user and would love to have this type of WIMAX offering. But when I called Neotel they informed me without asking where im from that its only for selective customers. So yeah saying its a offering and we still testing is the same thing

They haven't even configured http://neotel.co.za on their server (which is the default header mapping when adding a new site, seeing as it's running on Windows Server) and you HAVE to go "www."

I don't think Neotel is to blame for this, unless they are one of the companies who doesn't outsource their web site development. Which might explain why it looks so n00b (not even the stylesheet loaded just now...wtf?)

And this is what I don't "get". Telkom and Neotel are both tele-communications companies... you'd expect them to have online support via chat or prompt email response times/support tickets/forums etc... you know, the whole communications bit...
