Two robbers were shot dead during a high-speed car chase with police in Johannesburg on Wednesday evening.

The two were part of a 12-man gang that robbed a Pick n Pay supermarket in Olivedale after 7pm, spokeswoman Captain Kym Cloete said.

"Shots were fired in the Pick n Pay and one person sustained a flesh wound."

Three getaway vehicles sped away from the scene, one of which was spotted by police a short while later in Marlboro, with four occupants.

"A chase ensued through the Alexandra suburb and the suspects continued to fire shots at police, who returned fire. In 4th Avenue one suspect who was fatally wounded was shoved out of the car."

The chase continued down the street, until the driver was shot dead. The remaining two occupants were arrested.

And people still dislike the WC? People say all our cops are incompetent? IDK, maybe I'm more touched because Olivedale PcknPay is right down the road.
 
Geez, to think I was in Marlboro just a few days back when I had training in Joburg :/. Imagine you had to see that :O

This has nothing to do with the WC unless there is a misperception that the plods are only at the games. Well done to the SAPS.

However - and this a particular bug bear of mine - those 702 wallies, and ironically, Pick n Pay numbnuts awarded a certificate to the SAPS for the WC work and gave the voucher to a charity. Yet, here we have the brave stuff being done. And the little shoot out back at my place last month, or any number of other situations requiring bravery seem to go unnoticed. Seems like there is a little agenda to promote the 'positive' aspects of daily life. Yet, it is the WC that is abnormal and the ganster that are normal.

Oh, that it were reversed.

Sadly most of SA can't live and work down the road from the WC.
