I usually connect my PS3 to the internet via my laptop on a 3g connection, and now it's just fails to find an IP address (IP Address timed out).
I've googled it but can't seem to find a working solution.I've taken the following steps - On the internet connection I select properties, On properties, click on the Advanced tab and tick the box that says -"Allow other users to Connect through this computers internet connection".

Does anyone have a solution?

Set static ip's

Hey

I would try to set static IP's on both ends.. (Laptop and PS3)

Set your IP manually on your laptop LAN interface (ie; 192.168.1.1)
Then, on your PS3, set a static IP (ie: 192.168.1.2) with a gateway of 192.168.1.1. You will also have to fill in your DNS servers on the PS3 (You can get this from your laptop when you are connected by issuing the command in command prompt - ipconfig /all - and taking note of the DNS servers listed..

How's the LAG playing like that?

I've had endless problems getting the PS3 to connect and stay connected both wired and wireless. PCs and Xbox manage it flawlessly.

Set static ip's

I will try it tonight, got home late last night.

On a bad day the lag can give you a migraine but what can you do. Most of the time is not that bad.
