I won a PS3 & EA FIFA 2010 world Cup Soccer game

I was today notified that I won a PS3 console and the mentioned game. I won it in the Supernova competition on Super Sport during the world cup.

I was so surprised that never thought to ask about the specs. I don't own a PS3, had a Xbox360 for a while.

I suspect that it would a rather basic system, but I don't know what a basic system is. It will be courier sometime next week.

What can I expect as a basic system?
 
Prob a slim 120GB. The only other model is a 250GB slim I think. The hard drive is upgradeable anyways (at least it was in the fat), so you can get a 2.5" laptop drive and upgrade the storage capacity.

Comes with a dual shock 3 (vibrating controller) and no HDMI cable so you'll have to buy that separately (or the component cable) for HD.

Has a built in blu-ray drive, and two USB ports for charging controllers and connectig removable devices to, to watch pics,movies,listen to music etc.

Also has wireless and an Ethernet port for connecting to your home network and the Internet. Can also run it as a media center by streaming media from your PC (TVersity is a good free app for that)

Slim has a faster processor, but slightly slower blu-ray drive than the older fat PS3 (or so I've read). I have both but haven't bothered testing them against one another.

Lastly, congrats :) also won a 120gb slim from telkom recently.

Could possibly be the World cup bundle which is a 250gig model with the game

Thank you. I must say anything mentioned so far would be a huge bonus! I was thinking more in the lines of a 20 or 40GB hard drive. Also was not aware it had wireless, although I still have the RJ45 jack close to the wall unit, which I used to connect the Xbox360.

Thx for the replies, but I must confess I know zilch about soccer. I just changed the channel at the right time to hear the band's name announced at the end of their song and the question popped up. It took me about 30 minutes to register as the inter netz was buggered again and everything moved at a snails pace.
 
Congrats man I was phoned this morning by Telkom who informed me I just won a Playstation 3 in their "Win your share of R30 million prize" competition. I wonder which model PS3 I will get. Anyone else who won that can give some info?

I can't help you there. Mine was the 120 slim, but that was from Supersport

Does it matter :) ... well done. I bought mine on Friday (week back) from Telkom (they had the best price) and love it. Thought I was buying the 80GB and only saw it was a 250GB slim when I got home :)
