I went to the Kodak store in Paarl last Friday to make an A1 print and was surprised to see the Canon SX20 going for R3800 and even more surprised to see the Kodak Z981 going for R3300. Yes, its about that time of the year again for Canon to bring out a new SX model and I am sure the SX30 will be great and all but the price might be a little out of my grasp and I don't want to wait. So its between the SX20 and Z981 for me ATM.

Anyway, I listed both my current cameras (Z1015 & S3is) on BoB recently and they are doing pretty well so today I'm going back to the shop to buy a new camera. From reviews that I have read the SX20 seems to be the best buy but I am not sure if it really is R500 better than the Kodak with more zoom and a wider angle.

I used Canon from 2003 till 2007 and then Kodak from 2007 till now so maybe its time to give Canon a chance again? Would be good to get some feedback/input from others since this is a pretty big buy (for me at least).

I've got the SX1 and love it!

The only reason for going SX1 over SX20 was the CMOS sensor/consecutive shooting - otherwise I'd got the SX20 for sure!
