Howsit Guys,

Is it possible to install Android on My Sony Erricson (Windows Mobile 6.1 = FAIL for me) and if not Android what about this new windows mobile 7?

Thanks in advanced

get the SE x10 if you want Android.

He obvously already has an X1 .. so not likely hes going to throw it out just to buy a new phone .. also the X10 isnt qwerty .. which makes it a completely different proposition ..

To save you the other sarcastic comments ... the answer is "sort of". The X1 currently allows a "dual boot" into android (they cant completely hack the bootloader to allow a full android ROM to be loaded natively), but underneath its still WinMo at startup, you just select Android (or ubuntu etc) at startup. Unfortunately the hardware drivers are still not 100% complete .. so some functionality is missing .. and to be honest .. not likely to be fully functioning android phone in the short term.

My suggestion : live with WinMo for now .. use a good shell (SPB make a good one) .. that can make your UI a LOT more intuitive .. and next time .. buy a Droid or something ... and save yourself the microsoft headache

PS : Windows mobile 7 isnt even coming to the HTC HD2 .. which has a MUCH better spec .. so dont hold your breath

Apparently that is because it doesnt have enough physical buttons or some other arb reason, nothing to do with the specs of the phone. I think the HD2 has better specs than the WinMo7 test phones they handed out to all the Microsoft employees.
