Ok Where do I start???
I have a main office with a SBS2003. Client connections are allowed to VPN to the server via ISA. The server is only using PPTP connection and sits behind an Uncapped ADSL cisco router.
I have a branch office with a Netgear DG834, capped and 5 PC's behind it.
I want to VPN to my head office from the branch office. This works for one pc at a time, but I cannot connect more that once from behind the same router. I get a error 721 on the client. The following is logged on the server:
A connection between the VPN server and the VPN client 196.x.x.x has been established, but the VPN connection cannot be completed. The most common cause for this is that a firewall or router between the VPN server and the VPN client is not configured to allow Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) packets (protocol 47). Verify that the firewalls and routers between your VPN server and the Internet allow GRE packets. Make sure the firewalls and routers on the user's network are also configured to allow GRE packets. If the problem persists, have the user contact the Internet service provider (ISP) to determine whether the ISP might be blocking GRE packets.
As far as I am aware all ports are open to allow VPN communication. One client can connect at any given time, so presumably is should work for others.
It must have something to do with the return address being the same???
Is this configuration possible?
I know that individual client tunnels are not ideal, but what other method is there? I have upgraded the software on the DG834. It now has the very confusing VPN options in the menu. Can you create one VPN tunnel from the Netgear to the ISA server?
