Government can write stuff on little pieces of paper all they want. None of this can influence "traditional" ways of doing things because it is protected under our legal system.

All sectors of society includes sperm banks. We demand equal amounts of female sperm donors at sperm banks!
 
So a company will have to comply with both AA/BEE and gender quotas?

No problem, luckily our education system produces capable people from all races and genders to fill the needs of business, and more importantly, requirements by government ... < /sarcasm >

This is a progressive policy people. If we have race "parity measures" why not for gender and disabilities? You wanted this "representation" crap........
 
I wonder why no mention of management position held by white females was mentioned in this article? I thought this was about women, and this was Women's Day - not "Black, Coloured and Indian Women's Day". Odd how the government can't keep racism out of it's "equality" polices that have nothing to do with race. Bleh.
 
She said there was still under representation of women as paid employees and this challenge worsened at top management level of the private sector. "16 years into our democracy we still have white males holding 63 percent of top management positions in the private sector while African women are at less than three percent and coloured and Indians at 1 percent," she said.

I agree that the disparity is a bit much, but a vital fact being left out is that the majority of top 63% men are probably also the most educated and able to do the job of running a private sector company that makes a profit, pays taxes and employ workers, currently. This should change naturally from here on as education works its way through the current and next generation.

Women account for 36 percent representation in senior management positions at various government departments and state entities.

So government is 1% behind the private sector at 64% male dominated management positions.
