Community is in shock, my family was at the gardens when it happened,
it was so sad to see the Pathology Van take
the 2 bodies away from the local Botanical Gardens

In what appears to be one of the most bizarre murders/suicides, it would seem that the father, Mornay Jacques Edgar (41) took the life of his three-year-old son, Lee, and then killed himself. The police confirmed that a fishing knife was found in the hand of the father some 10 metres away from the body of the child. The child had open wounds in his chest, back and stomach. The father, who was lying amongst some trees, right next to a footpath, had open wounds to his chest. According to Capt. Bernadine Steyn, SAPS provincial media liaison officer for the Southern Cape, a post mortem was conducted on Monday but the results are not known yet and the above scenario is still specu-lative. A speargun was also found close to the body of the child, but the police could not confirm whether the discolouring on it was in fact blood and if it had been used in the killing or not. "Forensic tests are being conducted on it," says Steyn.

Crazy... what is it about the cowardice of some men that they feel the need to take their families lives when they are/have messed up.
 
its called chemical imbalance. its just proves once more that we are chemical reactions, nothing more.

What I'm trying to get at is that there must be another side to this story.. We'll never know what happened in that family.. It's just really sad and the best comment someone can come up with is "Oh, it must have been a chemical reaction". :/

The chemical reaction thing is correct, but not really applicable - Whatever reason we believe to have personalities, whether it be God, a soul, or just a chemical soup, so what? It's irrelevant. It was a sad thing to happen, but terrible **** happens every day, and frankly, in the grand scheme of things, this is just another to add to the pile.

I don't see a thread every time 15 people get crushed to death in a taxi.

True.. But once in a while things like this remind us of how screwed up we really are as a race :(
 
That's terribly sad, heart felt condolences to friends and family of the deceased....

Remember the possible cause! Sad that this woman did not want to share THEIR kid. Now thats gone and she may have be to blame herself. Now she is free and can do the same with another man!

This is Debra version of Morney and so far removed from who Morney is. Anti social?????? A child that horribly afraid of him yet wanders of with dad to the pond????? This is a man that was pushed way too far. Do I believe Debra is lying? No I don't. I believe only that it is her perceptions in her own mind that is making him a monster. That does not make it true. The problem lies with the Family law and the so called professionals that work within the realm. Question? Did that child psychologist know and consulted Edgar?? Seen him with the boy in a normal life situation?? My guess is not. Did the judge take the time and effort to know how accurate the psychologist report is? How easy it is for a "loving" mother to influence a 3 year old child with her perceptions??? I have experience this myself many times over with my own children and seen it personally in many other cases. I have seen a man with undiagnosed bipolar making his perception claims and accusations of child molestation. What happens to the mother? Nothing lets investigate first? If it was a man he would sleep in jail that night. Every body pointing a finger at Morney to say yes it is true look what he did he is a monster, Not true he is a man pushed to far that had his back to the wall because there is no one that was prepared to listen to him. He knew this he dealt with other cases in F4J. People do not understand that that High court order against him means millions yes, millions of rand to defend and by the time the court sagas is over and there is no guarantee that it would be fair, Lee would be a grow up boy and probably estranged from his father. Morney has lost one son this way before. Do not judge a man until you walked in his shoes.

So this has happened to him before, the whole divorce/custody thing... So are we to assume/believe that Morney's 2 previous wives were duds...???? He offs himself and his 3 year old son. He's is the dud... clearly...

1st off he is not a man and 2nd if the coward hadn't offed himself he would be judged in a court of law, the same court of law that has found him incompetent on a number of occasions before..
 
And you are the Judge, executioner and speak of first hand experience?

You know this man very well do you!

I do not defend or condone what he did but there are two sides to the story. One sadly ended the wrong way.
