Anti-piracy campaign for South Africa next month

She said five government departments would be involved in the campaign, including the police and communications, which will be asked to look into artists complaints of not being paid their dues by the SABC.

To the owners of Intellectual Property Worldwide: don't block me when I want to legally download A/V content from iTunes.

This is why piracy will never end. They want to put an end to piracy? Hows about giving the artist a higher cut of the profits while lowering prices? We all know that after everyone has taken their cut of the artist's work, the artist basically gets a small percentage. Also, get some real talent, too much crap these days. 2 words: Justin Bieber.

well, maybe they can push for the sabc to implement strict drm software policies.

Its more about educating the Artists about their rights then Anti-Piracy so thats good. The heading seems to be misleading.

Its a bit more complext than that.
They want to make sure that the body responsible for paying the artists is doing their job (SAMRO). Every time the radio stations play a song the artists are supposed to get paid... that does not happen.
This article has very little to do with piracy (unless they are keeping quiet about what they want to do).
