Nokia have good reliable phones and offer the best value for money. Pity though they dont back it up with their software. Its crap really. I just had an issue now where all my frikkin messages disappeared. And it seemed a common problem with symbian software and their Sd cards... with no solution. So my next phone will defn not have symbian.

Symbian gives you an option to save
messages on the memory card or on
the phone.

Sometimes a smartphone can fool the
unwary.
 
what would you like them to buy! The problem on this forum with most people is they want to force their preferences on everyone else!
 
whooo, way to flip the nitro switch Android. That kind of acceleration can give you whiplash!
 
maybe fix the DECIMALS... to indicate thousands. In SA you dont use decimals.
 
A few points:

1) The Nokia N8 (Awesome phone! Has 720p HDMI out with Dolby surround sound) will be Nokia's last N-series phone that uses Symbian. All future N-series phones will use Meego - a true Linux OS (Not like Android where only the kernel is Linux with a fake Java VM splashed on top). The Nokia E-Series will still use Symbian, though (I love my E71). (Side note, the N8 is also the first Nokia phone to use the QT-UI toolkit).

2) Why are BlackBerries considered smartphones? They can only run Java ME apps. My 6 year old Nokia could do that. All series-40 Nokia phones can also do that! And they aren't considered Smartphones. And they are considerably easier to code for!!

3) Remember that the iPhone 4 was announced during the time these stats were compiled. Most people held out buying an iPhone 3GS to wait for the 4. Thus the sales were not as big as they usually are.

4) Samsung just released their new Wave phone with the Bada OS. Should be interesting to see how Bada does in the next year. I've played around with it and it's a pretty spiffy device. Hear the Bada API is a piece of crap, though!

Blackberry baby!!!! Actually posting this on a Bold2. :-). After blackberry, I would vote for android cause it is linux based ;-)

PS: nokia is so dill and boring nowadays. So many models and yet nothing to blow ure panties off. When blacberry release a new model, its news. They have only a few...but very good models on the market.

nokia is reliable. Does what a cellphone is suppose to do.. Make calls.
 
I don't know, IMHO the Symbian on my E72 is pretty cool - certainly better than Windows Mobile on my PDA !
 
Would have thought the article would have been more specific about the model of phone rather than just the make?

agreed!! The few they do have all basically look identical!!
My mom has 2 of the 9700 bolds! 1 given as a work phone and the other she bought as a back up as they freeze up so much!
