If you had to purchase a new Windows Mobile phone

I am in need of a new phone as my old contract is coming to an end. The only 2 provisos is that it has to run on Windows Mobile platform and have an integrated GPS. There is a specific software that I have that needs to run on either WM or iOS, but I must admit I am not much of iPhone fan.

I have been looking at the HTC HD2. Any other phones to consider?
 
The HTC HD2 is a very nice phone,think you already chose the right phone.
 
the WM are seriously old news now, since M$ has been so slow, why does it have to be WinMo?
 
Winmo 6.5 is about to become completely obsolete with Windows phone 7. I would loathe to get one now.
 
As mentioned, one of the software I need to run only runs on WM or iOS - don't like the iPhones much, therefore left with the WM.
 
I have heard that HTC will not be bring out WM7 ROM for the HD2 - something about insfficient hardware requirements. Anyone can add to this?
 
No unfortunately they're not gonna upgrade any older phones, only new phones will get it. It's coming in October if you can hold out that long. Maybe you should get a 3GS or iPhone 4 to tide you over then sell it in October :P
 
HTC HD2, great phone. Keep on swapping between 3gs and the hd2 on a weekly basis.
 
HD2. It's still one of the bets phones available today. The screen is unmatched. 1GHz Snapdragon, as you know. And WinMo works well. People give it a bad rap because the UI is oldish. But get to iknow HTC Sense and all it well.

I'm busy downloading Dutty's Creme de la Creme V7 ROM and will blow it in this morning. The great thing about a WM phone is you can get a new one every week - the user support community on XDA Dev is unmatched, and new cooked ROMs are constantly appearing.

And yes, don't expect an official WP7 ROM for the HD2 from HTC.
 
Do NOT buy a Windows Phone until M$ release Windows Phone 7 OS - if ever. Windows Mobile 6.5 is a steaming pile of crap. The only thing that makes the HTC HD2 a good phone is HTC's manilla user interface - which is WAY better on Android anyhow.
 
Why would anyone have to buy Windows Mobile these days? I'm just curious because iPhones and Android support exchange now, what else is there?
