I have a question, the Wisepilot GPS software that is included, does it use your data connection as well as GPS, and if it does, how much data does it use and can you make it only use GPS?

Ive got a X10 and loving it :D havent used WisePilot but if you go to Settings, Location, you can choose if you want it to use GPS only or A-GPS to.

@Pooky: Are you asking if you can stop it from using data? Not unless you have the maps saved. Can't do that with WisePilot I think. Try Google Maps BRUT Mod 16. This will cache map tiles to your sd card. Or Copilot. You can save the SA maps on your sd card. You will want to use the GPS for proper navigation instead of A-GPS. Mobilism/IPMart-Forum/XDA Forum are your friends......... ;-)

Not unless you need the space (and you have rooted your phone, can't delete it otherwise I think). It won't use any data if you aren't using it. I recommend Copilot for X10!

MY SO saw a X10 mini over the weekend at some shop & now she wants one.
Anyone here using the X10 mini - any user feedback?
This is one SMALL phone & I cannot see how Android would work properrly on it ( after using a Milestone)

Also, any idea how much on pre-paid from MTN?

On prepaid it's R200p/m on MTN (if you have the TopUp type contracts). Or R3000+ cash.
I have to change my contract from 150 TopUp to 200 and pay in R431 to get it on MTN.

do any of you X10 owners have a problem with the telkom netgear (DG834GUv5) routers...
basically once I connect its fine but if I go out of range or disconnect and try connecting again it says..connecting...then disconnected....and it wont reconnect until I restart the router.

At work I have no such problem with the router

oh and if you dont have a problem with your telkom router, can you let me know which telkom model (Siemens 762SX, Billion 400g, Billion 800VGT) you are using, as I am thinking of getting it swapped before the contract is up..

Has anyone managed to sync their phone with their PC i seem to be missing sony sync on my phone only have the option of syncing with google ?

If I go too Select sync application it only gives me Do not use sync service or google no sony sync. My software is build R2BA024.

No it was no where, K did some "googleling" flashed my phone, I think phone was branded by Vodafone although nothing was visible except a red square for the internet, so I flashed it to R2BA026 and now Sony Sync is available. So all working now. Thanks anyway.

I hope you don't use Wifi a lot - 026 has a nasty bug. I went back to 024 till Android 2.1 comes out.....

What life do you guys get?

1 month into owning it. If i
- deactivate background data
- deactivate data usage
- screen brightness 20%
- receive ZERO calls and zero send sms

max battery life = under two days (about 1d20 hours)

think my battery is faulty?

Nope sounds about right, "smart phones" have **** battery life I just charge mine every night. As long as it lasts all day which it does I am happy.

X10 Mini Pro problem : When my Mini Pro's screen times-out the touch screen refuses to work when it "wakes up" again. I have to pull the battery out and it is then fine again until I stop using it and it goes to sleep again.

Has anyone experienced or heard of this yet? Will be taking it back to have it checked out in the morning :-(

Sounds faulty to me, I'd take it back ASAP. Whenever my screen goes black I only have to push the left chrome button twice to unlock it.

It was my first OBF (Out of box failure). NM replaced it and it is now fine. I updated the software (it said there was none, but it installed a new version when I said refresh anyway) and that did not fix it. The new software was not 2.1 by the way..... I reckon another month before we see anything new.

Thou the software update via Sony update gave me some different stuff. I can charge the phone while its off and fronts looks better. Still 1.6 thou
