On Sunday I attended the air show at Zwartkops in Pretoria.

Right alongside the runway was a very large fenced off section, with massive tents, plenty of super cars all around and hordes of people.

Seeing as how it is irrelevant, and because I don't believe in free advertising (especially for some people), I won't give the name away that was emblazoned across the place.

A friend of mine told me that this company belonged to Tokyo Sexwale.

Later on, during a stroll through the museum we encountered the man himself, Tokyo - leading a tour group of presumably "VIPs" from his little party, through the museum.

All fine and dandy so far...

BUT!

On our way out we passed a little display of uniforms, etc. and some airforce flags hanging above. I'm guessing these were airforce flags as I've never seen them before.

In front though? A @#%^ing ANC flag!

Now I have NO problem with Tokyo donating HIS time and money to the museum but fFs, this is the national air force's museum. What possible connection could there be between the air force and the ANC other than the flyboys possibly bombing them back in the day?

BEFORE YOU CHIRP - I am arguing the point based on historical facts and would write this even if it were the KISS party's flag up there.

Anyone else here agree with me on this?

You should focus more on the positive and less on the negative.

I was sitting just to the right of that tent on Saturday. I saw the fancy cars parked there but I didn't go there to look at cars so didn't see any of what you mentioned.
 
It's indicative of the fact that the ANC believes that South Africa belongs to them.
 
Oh, so that's the useless noise that kept my 7 month old daughter up all weekend. Must be really necessary for them to fly that low over the houses...
 
I wonder how many pilots the ANC trained in their guerrilla struggle..

You have a point if you are stressing about symbolism, tradition and so on. This appears to be the ANC motivation as well (trying to ‘own’ things they have no right to).

Functionally, unless it was obscuring stuff, it’s just a clownish joke on the ANC but I can see how it could be irritating.

They are doing this for a reason, besides the sense of proprietorship sticking there flag/grafiti/p!ssing on that bush gives them it also helps them create a sense of control and shows off there power. Kinda like teabagging a corpse in a multiplayer game.

You are saying that they are deliberately waving a red flag at the bull? It seems remarkably risky and stupid. However, I am totally unsuprised and unflabbergasted. The ANC is living-up to their usual high standards.
