HTC Desire HD.

Wow, so now I can text in high definition :-)

LOL @MTN, 'due to the competitive blah blah', really means we suck and we do not know what we will be able to get.

If there was a "none" option, I would have selected that. Quite frankly the whole phones thing is a bit of a rip off and a display of consumerism. But if I were to make a choice, I would say HTC aswell.

The answer should be based as to how you would want to use the applications for these phones. It is most certainly a cost factor but Android swings it with free apps. Dont want to be part of Steve Jobs Apple ecosystem and the OVI Store. In SOuth Africa the region app stores are limited and not very affordable.

I picked up my daughters HTC Wildfire from Autopage yesterday. It looks like a very nice phone (Much better than my Samsung I900 Omnia junk). Unfortunately, I am out of luck as she refuses to swap.

So very true. Neither do I. In fact im avoiding Apple because of him, not that I have been interested before, but the appeal of the Iphone has dropped.

Except for a slightly bigger screen and different OS, the Samsung Wave and Galaxy seems to be indentical. Bar the GPS app that comes with it, I am very happy with the Wave.

"MTN will announce any and all new handsets as they become available to the South African public. Due to the competitive nature of the information, MTN is reserving further comment."

Haha, probably means they have no idea what is coming or maybe don't really have anything planned and revealing this will mean losing customers to Vodacom who are bringing the new phones in for sure.

So who set up the poll? What order are the phones placed in? I would have thought alphabetical would make the most sense or is there an attempt to sway the votes ;) :D

Just in time for me upgrade at the end of this year! Bring on the N8! But I'll go and do a little research on those others and see if they even come close.

Nokia N8 with symbian. What is it with Nokia and Symbian??? Why dont they slap Android on there and spice things up a little. bleh! I am so bored with Nokia.

I am with you on this. Lately I just take a contract with no phone, get a nice discount, and buy whatever I want online. Plus I get rid of the horrible Vodacom / Vodafone branding. I hate that.

The N8 will be the last N-Series Nokia with Symbian on it. All future Nokia N-Series phones will have Meego on them.

Oh and the N8 is a pretty awesome little phone. Has 720p HDMI out with Dolby Digital surround sound.

Edit: Who are the 7 people that voted for BlackBerry??!!

I think what a lot of us fail to realise is that not everyone is tech savvy. A lot of users out there like the feeling of familiarity. They do not want something new that they need to relearn every time they get a phone. They want to pick up a new phone and know exactly how it works but with a lot of improvements on their previous phone. Having the same OS helps with this. By all accounts Symbian^3 looks similar but is a helluva lot quicker and has some major improvements. I really cannot see the big issue with this.

Ummm ... where is the dell streak ... am I really going to have to wait for xda to unlock it and buy one on amazon ??? come on guys .. a little more choice please.

I have played with a HTC android phone. Its easy peasy. A munky suffering from brain damage can operate it. :-) *feels sad now...poor monkey :-( *

I'm sure I would also find the change very simple to grasp, however, you are overlooking the fact that some people don't even know what right clicking a mouse means! Remember I got given an N95 because it was too complex for the person... some people don't like change.
