Very good knowledge of networks and protocolsAt least 5 years practical experience as a Network Engineer in an IT environment
Job Specification
Managing and co-ordinate all components / interfaces on Local Area / Wide Area Network including IP Telephony Voice (Telephony) and all associated branches. Ensure the smooth operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability.
Daily Maintenance and monitoring of WAN/LAN Network
Troubleshoot and resolve network problems
Wireless networking Support all projects and upgrades
Plan for and design solutions Ensure compliance with security procedures and standards
Maintain accurate and up to date configuration documentation on all networking equipment/peripherals.
Gathering and maintaining daily utilisation stats Monthly operational reports to management
Ensuring all Infrastructure Documentation is up to date
Provide input into the business continuity plan
Knowledge and a positive attitude of the Change process and the tools
Network security (Firewall and IPS/IDS Services, Radius Authentication Services, Network Access Control (Scanning PCs before allowing into Network, VPN Encryption Services, AAA Network Security Services) Remote access networking (Private Remote Access Networks, Wireless Data Provider Solutions, VPN Network Access Solutions) Unified communication solution provider (IPT / VOIP Services, Call Centres, IP TV/Video broadcasting)
Required
Very good knowledge of networks and protocols
At least 5 years practical experience as a Network Engineer in an IT environment
Current CCNP strongly preferred
Experience in Wireless networking Microsoft Windows Server and or 2003 Administration (Compulsory)
Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory Services (Compulsory)
An MCSE/ A+ or similar qualification will be advantageous.
Microsoft Windows 2000/3, Workstation & Server, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2000 Server/Advanced, Microsoft XP, Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services
Knowledge of other messaging / database systems such as MS Exchange, SQL etc
Ability to excel in a self-motivated and self-directed environment
Ability to work in a team to meet critical deadlines
Must be a team player who can take responsibility for a function
A structured, methodical and analytical approach to problem solving and work initiatives
Customer service orientated. Demonstrated ability to logically and analytically troubleshoot hardware and software

Keeping abreast with technology
A practical level of experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc.
