Geo-location apps in Africa

Google maps will be the best if you could download the maps to phone...yes you do not get the latest but you get something at least when there is no signal. you could also update it once a month.
and no data usage...
until then sticking to my garmin xt

Some phoned have a Google Maps app, but as far as I know you need to be connected to use it, i.e. it doesn't download to your phone.

I've been integrating geo-location services into web projects for a few years now and I've noticed the demand increase over the last year or so.
