Hi everyone,

I found this SSID = BOT1 when scanning the airways. This must be towards the Bottelary hills and I was wondering if anybody knew to whom this belongs to.

Anyone know?

I will be glad if it was them, I got good signal from that tower... I will have to phone them tomorrow.

I also found a BOT3 over the weekend while scanning the airwaves with a PDA - just as the bottelary hills came into view. (This just confirms that there are more than 1...)

Quite a few others also "popped up" on the radar - anyone know who these belong to?

does anyone know who this eyemax is. they have a huge ammount of area covered :) a new wisp? SNO?
 
WINX is used by Wireless Online. I can pick that one up from here, but not very good though. I don't know to whom the rest belongs too.

Interesting to hear that you have found other "BOT" SSID's. I phoned Uninet to ask them if BOT1 belongs to them, but they said it's not theirs. I then phoned megaserve and they also said it is not theirs. They said they normally use MS-**, which I'm connected too.

I'll phone WO tomorrow and ask them if it's theirs. Will post here if I find out anything.

Your just around the corner from me, Im basicly next to eversdal AP ;-)

WINX and Vredekloof1 I can pickup basicly thru my house lol they also pretty clear.

I'd guess about 6km, if EVERSDALAP is in Everdal (duh) :-)
 
I phoned WO yesterday and they said the BOT* SSID's is not theirs either.

Someone else mentioned to me that it might be ATW's, but I phoned them too and they also told me it's not theirs .. .. .

I'm awaiting some info from someone in that line of work and hopefuilly he can shed some light on these SSID's.

Will let you know when I do.

WINX I also get here in granger bay cape town. no idea who it belongs to. also didn't manage to hack with pda :-)

WINX belongs to Wireless Online.
 
Interesting.... Im see'ing eyemax as well and r00terHeights ..... no idea who they are.
If we all can see eyemax and are quite far from each other, it must be very powerful
 
Please let me know about the speed and kinda service from this unknown hotspot. I live in Protea Heights
I am sort off with WO at the moment... BAH what am i saying... My router went bang a day after they installed it and I still havnt had any comments from the bastards. So I recon its a waste of time complaining to them if there is no service to complain about in the first place.
Maybe I should just bow and go to Telkom :(

WO claims my PC is faulty.. So I swap it with my laptop which is seemingly just as faulty according to them... Strange how it works everywhere else ! Now I cant even ping the router anymore...

What am I to do? Can anyone give me advice on a decent Wireless company...
