Help please, what down speed can i expect from p2p after 8pm on a 30 gig shaped acc??

I have a 512 line. Someone at SAOL told me u get better speed during callmore time. :confused:
 
lol. maybe they mean there's less traffic during those hours so you can expect better speeds
 
Yeah, so basically i wanna know what down speed i can get. and if its better at night????
 
Think they lied to you. The only time when contention will be less of a problem will be between 1:00AM and approx 6:00AM, when most other people are sleeping. And then you still contend with the automatic downloads...
 
Ok....but can anyone tell me if its worth switching accounts from a downloading perspective. Will i reach my cap????
 
i'm on SAOL 30Gig... i only have ADSL 192 and my torrents on Shareaza Run wildly from 9k to 25k - static around 17k - i'm quite impressed. yea it seems slower around 7pmish.. but not always. depends what you're downloading, and where from. Standard Net Traffic is nice and fast.

Standard P2P... the fastest i've noticed... 14k ish... - still not bad considering its shaped.!
 
GRR... as i was saying... i've definately downloaded another 2 gig since that - and i've only been on adsl since the 15th... -

I think your worries with 30gig (if they don't pull the plug in November) will settle as the novelty and the ideas of WHAT THE HELL TO DOWNLOAD NEXT wears out. Unless you like your prOn well prepaired :)

I can tell you what will happen - you will be placed on a super low priority international queue but still retain your local connectivity.

I would love to know who told you this nonsense - obviously network congestion on the ADSL network is at a premium during business hours but I fail to see the relation to callmore time.

Pedantic - what will happen with the pricing of services once the Nov 1 thing happens - do we get a surprise bill for our 30gig unshaped or do we get asked if we'd like to downgrade to something around the same price ?

Lets hope it doesnt go that far... :(
 
I get 52kb/s P2P download speeds.....
