Anyone tryied to order the 1024 yet?

Just phoned telkom to request an upgrade to 1024. After checking the site and seeing it will cost 680 I did not think it was that bad since I was already paying them 477.

The response I got from telkom was:

"Err, err it is not really available now, it is just been advertised, maybe at the end of the year or maybe sooner, I am not sure"

OMG??? Why advertise it will be available 1 Sep??

Idiots.
 
I called 10219 this morning (1 Sept). They said the service does not exist yet. I got the feeling the Telkom person was think I was making a crank call.

I then called 0800375375 and placed the order. They said it would be activated within 24 to 48 hours, so I do not know where the 21 days comes from that other people heard.
Telkom = confusion.
 
Telkom operators clearly don't know what they're talking about ...

The one tells me that if you go from 384 - 1024 it takes 24 to 48 hours

The other person tells me that if you go from 512 to 1024 it will take 14 days

And the other person just didn't know anything
 
The guy I spoke to could not give me an estimated time to install, but said to phone 0800 456 786 tomorrow to follow up.
