Ok, any myBB'ers using socialhub.samsungmobile.com?
As I understand it, I need to signup there to remotely wipe my SGS the event of theft/loss?
Anyone manage to successfully register their handset on socialhub.samsungmobile.com?

Umm...? So, nobody uses the site? Or nobody has problems with registration?

The more appropriate Samsung service for that would be Samsung Dive (http://www.samsungdive.com/index.do). I'm not sure if it's fully functional for SA yet. I'll find out.

Nope. It comes up with a message "This service is not available in your country" when you try to locate it.
Such BS for this to be limited based on country, because it actually is running on the phone, it's just the website that blocks you from seeing the location and sending lock/wipe commands.

In the FAQ:
"Currently Mobile Tracker is available in UK and Germany. Services for other countries will be available soon."

Ok, thanks. Then they've changed it since I spoke to Samsung SA two weeks ago. Pity.

Edit: Oh, you mean registration works and only later informs you of non-availability?

Yes you can register and activate it on your phone. It's when you try to actually locate your phone you get the message.

Locking your phone seems to work though, I assume remote wipe does too but I'm not going to test that...

Oh ok that sounds hopeful. Waiting for Samsung SA to get back to me about an IMEI technicality. They claimed that no IMEI numbers were being accepted but your info clearly confirms that IMEI numbers are still being accepted. So they are BS'ing me and the technical problem is with their methods. When I registered it asks you to create an @samsung.com USERid. It copies that ID and sticks it in the primary email field. So, yep possibly dof of me to think the system must be correct and maybe it will issue a samsung.com email address as part of this socialhub thing. But anyway, I left it as it was and submitted and it accepted. So then obviously I have no access to collect to that mail to verify it. Also, I cannot re-register as it won't accept my IMEI number now as I have used it. Fundamentally, their system is flawed by auto-completing your primary email field with the wrong info OR maybe I am dof. In any event it is flawed because it does not ask for a second verification of your email address as it should in this high security setup of their. This means if a user makes a typo in the email field, then you are also screwed. Samsung SA cannot help so they need to contact the programmers in Korea. What a schlep.

Tks for info :)
