Okay, weve decided we are long over due for some action, and some of my members are getting lazy, so I would like you to assist us in giving us more work to do.

Pretty much, in a couple of days time, antitrust.co.za is going to Parliment to say hello. We intend taking the petition that you lot have been signing over the last couple of weeks, printing it out (remember the part mention Ivy?...hopefully she will be there), and handing it to whom ever doesnt arrest us. (Toi Toi optional)

So if you could tell your mates, co-workers and family to please autograph it if they have not already done so.

Guys, Antitrust needs suggestions for permanent banners/signs. We need slogans that will have a lifespan of more than a few weeks.

For example - "Telkom's prices cost SA jobs".
- "Telkom is ripping SA off".
- "Telkom: Not affordable for most".
- "Telkom cheats the public".
- "Telkom: SA's Big Bully".
- "Govt must make Telkom affordable".
- "Time for Communications Minister Ivy to go".

I know, those are crap suggestions, but please, tell me if you like any of them, or suggest your own. This needs to be done asap.

Just a reminder for anyone wanting to join us in Cape Town on monday. Those of us who are going to be there will be meeting at 9:30am at a private menu, then from there moving to our protest. All interested people can mail me at [email protected] or simply PM me here on this site.
 
Our comment is this- We had difficulty in getting into contact with the appropriate person willing to receive the petition. There are certain rules about these things - in fact some of these rules are contained in the Constitution. SteveV your offers of involvement are appreciated.
 
Rules to deliver a public petition to an elected government? I think that if you get permission for a demonstration march, you can hand the thing over to someone. Alternatively it should be given to a politician that you KNOW will do something with it, not file it under '**** you' or something.

As for banner ideas, I'd push for slogans that play on the current surge in leftism and workers' rights. Telkom has been shedding a lot of jobs and still shows great profits. Maybe 'Telkom - the worker's enemy' or 'Telkom - the few feeding off the many'. I'm sure there's something catchier than that.

Maybe 'At Telkom, shedding 10,000 jobs = R6,4 billion profit' Whatever the number of jobs lost were. It's gloves off with this thing - I'd say anything goes as long as one can back it with facts.
