i am an avid soulseek user and i cant forward my ports i am utterly confused by conflicting information available on various sites and am at my wits end.
i need a jedi port forwarder...
any practical advice would be appreciated.
i have a telkom marconi router and a headache.

ssslk port forwarding

i need to use soulseek, to stay in touch with what is happening in house music. i have a marconi router.

sslk port forwarding.

i have done exactly as instructed on said link- the one which is given on the sslk site. no luck. i need to use soulseek coz i am a dj and i use the final scratch. the sites that sell mp3 in the type of music that i like are generally a bit behind .sslk keeps me cutting edge. however people generally cant see my files and i cant see theirs.
i will try this hamachi madness tomorrow.
thanks for the advice.

if you are testing if the slsk port is open, and it tells you its closed - it might actually be working fine.

have you looked at this link? step by step for marconi and slsk - you cant go wrong

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Marconi/Marconi-Model2/Soulseek.htm

however - I find soulseek really blows these days - if you need independent music try get on indietorrents.com

I had the problem untill i tried the portforward site.
They worked out for me.
Goto comon ports . then soal seek , and then choose the router , and it gives you in-deapth coverage of what to do.

i dunno why ppl still mess around with those programs for music when allofmp3.com charges next to nothing with an awesome program that sorts and keeps track of everything d/led

and its legal :) sort of

Well just like me,this guy said it is for housemusic.Where the Russian site may well have the odd house compilation, you are looking for the complete "dj friendly" version.Soulseek and emule are good sources for that.

Ja, I get a lot of music that MP3 sites won't have, and soulseek is great for that. Also its unshaped (for iBurst at least), which is nice.

I also have had trouble getting my ports configured, and once I just ran it using a port which it said was closed, and it was fine.

But generally, if you actually forward the port on your router and give everything a reset it should work.

Soulseek FTW!!

You definately won't find all the latest electro and tech house tunes on allofmp3. That's what i use Soulseek for and it works brilliantly :D
