Hi,

TelkomInternet actually launched a VoIP product for their users. They call it the TelkomInternet Communicator.

After all the prelaunch hype, doesn't look too bad, but i need someone to call.

Doesn't look like anything special to me. If it could make free calls to landlines then it might be worth getting excited about...

It still from Telcrap - don't use it on principal.

Intersting days when Telkom creates software with better features than Google.

But I'll still hang onto Skype and Gizmo.
Whoever creates SkypeIn or CallIn for South Africa first wins my loyalty

Not bad at first glance! Looks like a nice app. - wonder how well it works?

Works well, just made a call to a friend. Quality is quite good. Seems better than skype.

I wouldn't use it on principle thanks. As far as SkypeIn goes, isn't offered locally already?

I cant get the thing to work, keeps giving a server-time out error. Plus it looks really bad. Another poor effort from Telkom.

I think they might have the functionality, but it is a tricky issue (breaking into the PSTN)...

I think ICASA won't allow it anyway, not at this stage.
