Since the Beginning of TTV`s existence the only thing that really made it for me was the price and the quality of the picture. Top TV in-housed channels like: Top Explore, top1 etc. was at a very very good quality, i would almost say near HD.

Last week however, this all changed. :(
I think they changed their encoders, because its pixelated, grainy and on music videos it pretty bad with movement, which enhanced the pixelated effects... nothing has a smooth transition anymore and this has carried over to all other channels.

This really has dropped the experience, not kewl guys...
Is it just my side or is it all round?

And the New Channels, oh boy....
ASTV was such an arrival... not! FTA Channel... when are we gonna get something decent for a change without paying a fortune for it?

Just bring some channels that everyone would enjoy, not what the office likes. Run a survey if you must, but let your subscribers have a voice too...

Im having the same poor pic quality degrade. Use to look like dstv HD channels now looks crap. They seem to be going backwards not forward

So true hey... a pity indeed... I hope they revert to what it use to be like... Otherwise its pointless watching and getting irritated by the quality. Might just go back to the devil after-all... :(

Agreed with digitalp.

But how many new channels are they planning? How much bandwidth needs to be dropped? Questions, questions, questions.

I thought they were only at 30% odd on their bandwidth ... or am I dreaming this figure up?

Dont we all wish topTV wasn't horse sheat...

I tried watching a rugby match on setana africa, but the quality was so bad I could barely see the ball being passed.

What are you guys on about? I just checked all the channels you mentioned and the picture is perfect. Well it is in my LG Flatron 54cm TV.

I can also confirm on my samsung 40" LCD that almost all the channels are pixelated a little bit so I just turned my digital NR on my tv to low and that helped a lot

lets hope they fix the problem

The problems that I see is on the Top movies, +2 and +24 Fox FX , TOP one TOP Crime, Fox entertainment

TOP TV PLEASE FIX THE PROBLEM ASAP

on a smaller screen, it might not be as evident. But i have a 42" samsung and every movement is pixellated. Seriously its an annoyance as it seems like you badly ripped a movie or like you converted a movie using the wrong codec.

Its a pretty big issue for me, my experience is dependent on good quality picture, and it wasn't always like this. I swear this started a week ago and its not kewl guys...

Top TV, short out your SH#T asap... we not happy.

Everyone wants something for nothing....

Obviously cheap TV is going to be crap quality. Stick with the guys that have been doing this for 20 years...

Its not crap quality dude! Not everybody can afford DSTV, not saying I cant, I just chose TopTV instead.

I havent noticed much a difference in picture quality at all! People are so quick to say "They seem to be going backwards not forward" when they experiance one issue. Give it time ffs!

I can tell you when my toptv was installed on the 1 May the picture quality was also poor untill I started a thread here and the problem was solved

Only problem I have with TTV, is the sound volume its extremely low, I have the decoder set to max volume and then still have to raise the volume on the TV to about 60%, where normally the TV sits at about 20 to 25% on standard UHF TV, must then remember to reduce the volume on the TV otherwise DVD's wake the neighbourhood up.. ;)

I watched a bit of Spidey 3 this morning on a 47 inch LCD and the pic quality was quite impressive.Could some areas be experiencing better a quality pic than others?I am in Bedfordview,Gauteng.

the problem is bad and worst on other channels but the quality was so near to dstv's HD and your eyes adjust to that quality that when we are watching now it does not look very good any more
