Article: Presidency lost office furniture and computer equipment worth R5.8 million

The presidency has lost office furniture and computer equipment worth R5.8 million in seven years and incurred irregular expenditure of R939,000.

"The assets amounting to R5.8 million, which have been written off, date as far back as 2002 up to last year," the presidency said in a statement on Monday.

There is probably about 1M rands worth of IT equipment in one of the SITA servers rooms that has been in boxes for more than a year just sitting there doing nothing.

These boxes are marked at "The Presidency - Please do not remove"

In another years time that equipment will be outdated and not worth anything.

There goes out tax payer money.

The more such news , the quicker they'll push through the bill to ban publicising these things - will MBB be effected?

Is anyone surprised. This ANC government doesn't give a rat's ass how they waste the tax payers money.
