Are you going to change the message that currently appears on your website?
Note: All device downloads available on this page are zero-rated to Vodacom customers. There is no charge for your download from this page, when you connect to this site from a Vodacom SIM card.

You read somewhere else that there are NO crossed wires on the back end of the Vodacom site, so why should the message be changed? It must be a good money spinner...

@Antonf

The comments you are quoting are made in other threads unrelated to this matter and thus out of context. You have anything substantial to add to this thread other than "EPIC FAIL"?

Was also charged for downloading modem software, Glad you tested it VodacomData, now I demand reimbursement!

(lol, not a worry methinks that would be a bit of a mission to get through Vodacom's red tape)

Unless I am mistaken all of the threads are related - the dysfunctional website. What does it help to say "please be carefull when downloading software"? You can be as careful as you want to be: Install anti-spyware, put on two condoms, take out extra insurance - you will still be charged for the download from the site. If I am not mistaken the downloads were zero-rated previously, so if "All your convenient Vodacom services and functionality" was available it should be as functional as it was on the V4me site, which it clearly isn't.

But yes, I realise you don't like anything negative about Vodacom, so feel free to delete the post

You cannot take quotes from other threads without context and use them to make a statement in another. Technically speaking the downloads were traditionally served from www.vodacom.co.za and services from came from v4me. Yes the downloads were previously zero rated, yes I believe Vodacom should fix it as a matter of urgency, amend their website in the mean time and refund everyone who has been billed erroneously.

Here is a heads-up for you and others who keep coming back with this line. I don't have a problem with peoples negative sentiments towards Vodacom or any other company for that matter. What I do have a problem with is how people express those sentiments on this forum. If all you can come up with is "Vodacon, Vodascum and Epic Fail" then your comments have no substance and hence become irrelevant. Surprisingly enough there are people who come here to learn more about technology and get help when they are stuck. If this forum gets reduced to a myriad of insults and unsubstantiated commentary, then people will start to ignore it and we will all loose a valuably knowledge exchange platform.

I for one have learned a lot of things from tips and tricks people have posted in this forum and I am sure you have too. Surely you have to agree that it's a waste of your time to read through pages of posts where all people have to add is snide comments before you actually get to an answer?

Hi All

I'm not too sure why the software link became charged again , however i can assure you that it is not supposed to be and we are giving it our fullest attention. i just came out of a meeting where i brought it up again and escalated. I am hoping to get this resolved as soon as possible.

Didn't I see another moderator call another company "Telkomdemonopoly"? Let's have some consistency please, and not defend just one company.

I will leave it to ic to answer

This is the Vodacom forum so people will be inclined to comment on Vodacom. I did point out further up in my post that my stance applies to all companies.

@VCD, before Vodacom fixes the zero-rating problem, there is something much more important that Vodacom needs to do, specifically prevent anyone from being able to access the associated downloads [change permissions on the server and clear any Vodacom proxy servers, or whatever it takes], such that there are no more customers being charged and inconvenienced for Vodacom's mistakes.

When the zero-rating problem is fixed, and I stress properly tested, then Vodacom can turn its attention to making the downloads available again to Vodacom's customers.Lounger's username suggests that he [or she] is likely here only to troll and is probably a clone, other than that I have no comment except that it is Telkodemonopolies and not:

I'm not following your argument dude, but forget it. It's not worth fighting with someone who won't see my point.
