Players in MMORPG 'eve online' recently spent 12 months infiltrating a guild in order to assassinate it's leader and take it's assets. Read the original article here.

LOL this is exactly what makes this game so cool :)
 
......like ol news. The guys even posted bout it. Making a giant press release on the forums and talking boiut how they infiltrated the corp and gained the trust of the members only to rip it off. The whole community was in an uproar afterwards but now that the water settled it's more referred to as a lesson that had to be learnt for all.


Have to say scams in eve are one of the best in the game industry. Scam's aren't just little things they can be as deep and involving as real life plots to take over a country.
