Did anyone notice the plethora of cellphone adverts in the Sunday Times yesterday?
All of them claimed they were the cheapest providers (yeh yeh).
Vodacom had a two-page full colour advert with graphs and whatnots, supposedly comparing Vodacom's tariffs with cellphone companies in the rest of the world. Surprise surprise, Vodacom appeared to be very competitive. However, the graphs were very unscientific. Neither axis was labelled. Unfortunately people who dont use their brains enough wouldnt notice. I think this advert was a response to the Carte Blanche thing.
Telkom had an advert saying something to the effect that, no mater which way you looked at it, Telkom was still the cheapest way to make a phonecall at any time of the day. This is obviously a load of crap, as VOIP is far cheaper than Telscum. Perhaps we could complain to the ASA? Anyone who saw this advert, do you agree with me that it was misleading?
