Maintenance team, supporting and maintaining enhancements around the custom developed electoral applications.
2.2. Project
The project is a system maintenance project. The project will include all aspects of the software
development lifecycle, i.e. analysis, design, build, test and implement. The maintenance will be on
any of the Electoral Company’s custom developed electoral application systems which are used
for the management the processing of business data and information.
The project will cover the following:
2.2.1. Gather user requirements on the proposed functionality of the Results system;
2.2.2. Modify existing functionality to ensure that it supports business processes;
2.2.3. Compile design documents and database design documents in accordance with
business requirements reflected in the project charter;
2.2.4. Compile test plans that reflect different test scenarios and expected results;
2.2.5. Compile test scripts that will be used to ensure that the developed functionality meets
the business requirements as captured in the detailed designs. The test scripts are
expected to include Microsoft SQL scripts to ensure that the data is saved correctly on
the different database tables;
2.2.6. Conduct component, module and system testing to ensure that the developed
functionality is in line with the requirements captured in the detailed design
document;
2.2.7. Manage the migration of the system enhancements through the different
environments that are used as part of the test plan; and
2.2.8. Compile training manuals and participate in the actual training of system users.
2.3. Skills Requirements
The personnel appointed will be responsible for all activities in the system development life cycle.
As such, curriculum vitae of personnel with the following skills and experience should be
submitted:
2.3.1. Ability to conduct user requirements gathering sessions with different line function
managers and translate the requirements into functional specifications;
2.3.2. Good documentation skills and ability to complete the following documentation:
functional design, detailed design, database design, technical architecture design, test
scripts and testing procedures and user training manuals;
2.3.3. Experience in drawing business processes using tools such as Microsoft Visio;
2.3.4. A level of proficiency in Microsoft technologies used for application development in
the COMPANY environment (see table below);
2.3.5. A high level of proficiency in writing Microsoft SQL queries, including sub queries and
cursors;
2.3.6. Familiarity with configuration management tools, design tools, debugging tools, and
any other environment specific tools necessary to create, test, and implement an application;
2.3.7. Engage in formal and informal knowledge transfer; and
2.3.8. Working effectively as part of a team and seeks to support the team’s goals.
2.3.9. Application development/programming experience on a Microsoft platform and using same tools as indicated below.
2.4. Technical Skills requirements
In addition to the above skills experience, it will be advantageous for business analysts to also
have the following technical skills:
