Description:
Main Role:
• The position requires the individual to be experienced in test design and testing execution in a cross-platform environment.
• The candidate will be required to support, contribute to and execute testing (from conception to user acceptance testing level) according to the organisations defined testing process and standards.
Key Outputs:
• Test Strategy and Plan, Test Specifications, Test Scripts, Fault logging
• Responsible for testing of various systems & components
• Logging of defects found and track to resolution
• Engagement with both technical and operational teams to address technical problems through to resolution
• Contribute to continual service improvement of the QA & test processes & procedures
• Participate in system reviews related to QA & testing
• Technology
o Support and co-ordinate all assigned user testing
o Ensure that all testing documentation is completed and archived in accordance with the defined standards
o Trouble Shooting and Problem Solving
o Management & maintenance of test environments through participation and contribution on the release review board.
• People
o Manage relationship with the Application Development Team
o Manage relationship with the Technology Infrastructure Team
o Manage relationship with the Rapid Deployment Team
o Manage relationship with the business users assigned for UAT
o Resolve business and technical queries related to testing
• Procedural
o Adhere and contribute to the governance of the Testing environments
o Adhere to the Change Control and Release Management Processes
o Support the Project delivery and change management processes
Requirements:
Education & Qualifications:
• Completed or working towards a tertiary qualification (degree or diploma) in IT or Computer Science
Technical Skills & Experience:
• A minimum of 2 years experience in testing and quality assurance
• Computer literacy in MS Office
• Knowledge of Windows XP/Server 2008 and also SQL Server 2005 / 2008
• Knowledge of Unix/Solaris environment
• Knowledge of HP Quality Centre
• Knowledge of software configuration management and change management
• ITIL V3 Foundation certification (desirable)
• Business knowledge of Investment Administration (advantageous)
• Initiative, flexibility, pro-active approach and problem solving skills are required.
• Strong time management skills to support the business and technology teams
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• High level of integrity
• Good communication skills both written & verbal
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to prioritise, work effectively and must be organised
• The ability to set and maintain high work standards to achieve goals
