Has anyone tried the new Vodafone Mobile Connect v10.0.201?

I know most people on here most likely use MDMA anyway, but thought I'd ask.

And Vodacom is most likely still testing VMC 10 before they release it (plus they need to fix their download section anyway, as it's still counting towards data bundles).

Not sure if and when the software will be made available. There is another thread regarding the vodacom.co.za download links.

Yes, I downloaded it to test a K3805-Z modem. Note it is now known as 'Vodafone Mobile Broadband', I hope this doesn't mean Vodacom will have to rename it before releasing it here.

VodacomData, you might want to let someone know that this software still has links to http://www.vodacom4me.co.za.
 
I downloaded it and tried it a while. Had problems with getting it to connect to the internet. It just wouldn't.

It attempts to connect, but doesn't create the dial up connection in Windows. Then all of a sudden it drops the device from the software.
 
I also downloaded it and had the same problem as Iam3G. Its disappointing though. Vodacom always take so long with their software testing and we always have to wait months before we can get it. For example, I have a Nokia 5800 and Nokia released v51 for it months ago. Vodacom at that point was still at v30 and even now they've release v40 only. Its the same with this Vodafon Mobile Connect.
 
The version that comes on the modem with that Vodacom Internet Starter Pack (version 10.1 'Lite') seems to work pretty well, with other models as well.
 
The VMC that came with my Huawei E220 unfortunately did not work with Win7 x64, as the firmware had to be upgraded (Using an XP installation o_O)

Acquiring 10.0.201.23143 solved the problem.

It's the only one I know, and, besides taking about a minute from opening the app to being able to connect, works fantastically :)

Have had the rare occasion where the "Check Balance" doesn't work, but I suspect that's more Vodacom side :)

I got one of those internet starter pack goodies over the weekend. Loaded the software just to get the driver and ditched the vodacom app as it takes an eternity to startup. I am using windows standard dialler to connect, and I can also use my 8ta sim in the modem then. Using mdma for USSD only.
 
Not officially supported by Vodacom yet. Vodacom are most likely still testing out version 10 and will release it when ready. The version number might be different.

That would be version 10.1 released with the Internet Starter Pack and the K3805. They should put a stand-alone copy on the Vodacom Website for download.
 
I've been using it for several months now, since I discovered it on Vodafone's website. I am fairly happy with it. It works fine on my E272 and also on those rare occasions when I've had to use my BB Storm2 as a modem. The only thing i will say though, is that it does take a bit longer to start up, detect the device and then the network.....
 
I just spent a frustrating evening with that so called software. Junk. Wrecks your WIFI connections, insists on disconnecting WIFI when you start the modem, horrible junk. Fine if you don't move from network to network a lot, or need to on occasion have 3G on while still connected to your network, but not great for truly mobile people. Also when putting a Win7 64 bit to sleep, WMBLite has screwed up the WIFI connection and a reboot is needed.
Horrible software.
Create a windows dialup connection instead.
