So as speculation on the web goes, the next version of the Nexus is likely to be built by Samsung. Samsung has sent out Save the Date invites to select industry professionals for the date November 8th promising an announcement of a new Android device. That probably had something to do with the rumours.

Anybody excited about this? I have a Galaxy S and am certainly intrigued!

As a Galaxy S owner I'm happy about this because it means we'll get the next version of Android for sure, and probably whatever comes next as well.
Not to mention whatever benefits come from the Android developers giving Samsung's hardware special attention.

I'm sure some clever hackers will get the Nexus S firmware running on the Galaxy S too.

So it seems Engadget got hold of the device somehow and are calling it the Nexus S. http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/11/this-is-the-nexus-s/

Thank goodness it has a flash unlike the Galaxy S. Gingerbread sounds yummy - can't wait!

I believe the Galaxy S can get Flash if you update it to Android 2.2 Froyo. Yeah this does look pretty kewl.

too be honest, that is quite an ugly piece of phone hardware. even the galaxy S looks better than that.

+1, now all plastic and girly like. But I would buy one if it has gingerbread and an official Google developer phone like the Nexus One and G1.

Nexus S does indeed run Gingerbread. Full details on official Google site http://www.google.com/phone/detail/nexus-s I wonder if it will be restricted to the US as its predecessor was. Looks like a sweet phone, slightly more polished than the Galaxy S but not too different.
