Hi Mweb

I have been having only on my mweb ISP account lag, when playing wow. So do my other friends, who use Mweb.

(My one friend in wow has been waiting for a week for feedback. They initially contacted him over skype, we were impressed at that stage to the fast response. Until we have not heard any thing after that nor know if they are still working on it.) I'd like to know before I renew my EFT as I only have Mweb for the reason of playing wow.

There is some thing wrong with the way you "shape or route" my account with wow.

My guild wars game, has perfect ms, no lag.

I have even tested other ISP accounts as well. I only* have latency with mweb. Please unshape my account in this time where you are busy sorting this out as I pay hundreds of rands to both mweb and wow and the last month it is being wasted. I do not even download much at all, mostly wow and skype.

I'm seriously thinking of moving isps, but I have been with mweb for years and do not wish to do so out of loyalty as they have a proven track record with me of providing good service. I don't know if this issue is to complicated or even being looked into yet but I'd like to know is there a solution to the problem or should I move isps at the end of the day. All* my friends have this prob with mweb atm.

Please help or I'm left with no other option than to cancel my account.

My whole guild is filled with South-Africans who are also using mweb. They are experiencing the same problems only* on mweb.

*Note my Guild Wars has good MS on mweb.

*Note my WOW has good MS on telkom.

*So it must be* Mweb causing this issue.

I have email if a person from your teck team can assist me. I am one of my guild's leaders and it is resulting in me gaining a poor reputation. We have a planned raid tonight, which I can now not attend.

*I have a 384kps line.
*I normally get 300-400ms on my Mweb account!!! This is why I am confused why the service has gone down the hill for the last month +-.

Thank you for your time.

Hi MwebNr1Fan

PM me your MWEB account details and I will have a look into this.

Kind regards
MWEB Operations

May I direct you to this 48 page thread: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/269349-MWEB-Gaming-Feedback/page48

We know it is MWEB's fault, we know sort of what the problem is (Blizzard changing traffic to P2P, MWEBs shaping reading it as such and shaping the hell out of it), we have Will@Mweb looking in to it with great fervor.

It will be fixed, when is the great question here. I find it slightly silly that they even asked for a PM of details when they know that this has been happening for the last month now.

FYI. MWEB during business hours my ping with WoW is sub-500ms. As soon as it's out of office hours it goes to ****. So yes, P2P shaping definitely the cause there... Web Africa recently also "discovered" this issue after blaming several other people (including Telkom) for the lag issues.

It should be as simple as adding all the IP's used in a "whitelist" of some sort. You guys can get a list of those on wowwiki

The thing is I used Telkom, I got 400-500ms, which I am very happy with.
My friend has now tested a prepaid "Open Web" and his wow is fine. He has a 4mb Mweb account and his wow is also badly shaped. He is now using Openweb until mweb fixes this.

There is some thing different with the data stream of a new character in wow and a lv 80's. I have noticed as they get different MS. A new character gets 400-500ms where as my 80s get 1000ms-12000ms! (This only happens on Mweb.) Not on my Telkom account or on my friends Openweb.

Mweb gave my friend a unshaped test account he he got some of the best ms he ever had. So I know now for a fact* it has some thing to do with Mweb's shaping.

I use to get 300-400ms which I feel is very good on Mweb.

Could I ask that we please keep this discussion in the gaming feedback thread - I really don't want to discuss it in two places.

Mweb Nr1Fan, please could I ask that you join us in that thread and backtrack a little to see the extent of fixes that we have tried for this already, unfortunately without success. There are also Blizzard issues at the moment and a lot of discussion on their forums indicate that there are customers on other ISPS affected by similar issues. We are still trying to fix this and I am keeping a close eye on Blizzard's forums and testing the game performance myself to see if we can isolate the cause of this.
