Yea, had the same problem. Download plus usage went off my "anytime" cap and i still don't have a "download plus" cap. I was told there are some technical difficulty and developers are on it...so i guess i'll wait.
WA sure has made things complicated , i now have FOUR caps to watch. .
Many if not all users that went for the DSL Complete packages did so as a result of the old "Recharge" pricing. This pricing structure that was supposed to be permanent has now been removed and we have not been supplied with option that gives us the same value and freedom. On top of that the new pricing structure is not fully functional. In light of this I don't believe we should be content with waiting.
Web Africa would probably argue that the new teared pricing allows for greater flexibility, and indeed Download Plus provides users, who aren't bothered to schedule their downloads to the nightly hours, great value at R8/GB. Yet, this is limited and constantly visiting web page to monitor my usage is too high a price for me. I would have preferred to rather pay R45/3GB for anytime bandwidth (instead of the R117/3GB and R8/GB between 00:00 and 06:00 as now) and not micromanage my usage constantly.
@waIan: Perhaps you should consider developing a simple client side application that informs users of their respective usages. Note: I'm not referring to a bandwidth monitor in the traditional sense, but a client side application that supplies the user with the same information and capability as in the control panel. It could run in the notification area, and display pop-up messages immediately when a user preset level of usage for each cap is left. Email notifications isn't an equally efficient solution either (the user needs to be logged into that email account or be on the computer on which the email client is installed). Such an application would greatly reduce the amount of time spent logging into the DSL Console or refreshing the page constantly to monitor ones usage.
Furthermore limiting users to only acquire a Download Plus cap equivalent to the fixed monthly cap is not enough to offset the omission of you old Recharge pricing. Failing to acknowledge this would result in many of your users to migrate to other ISP's. The full effects of this will most probably only realize in two to four moths as most users are probably still unaware of the price changes. Additionally you require a months notice. Moreover: The barriers to exit is no longer as great as they used to be. Moving a DSL line to another provider is no longer such a difficult task, and I in all probability few of your DSL users use any of the 5 email addresses you provide and subsequently aren't bound by them. You obviously considered all of this before changing your pricing structure. I fear you have miscalculated, unless your infrastructure is seriously overutilized.
I suggest you seriously rethink your pricing structure. If it is not all possible or profitable to revert back to the old structure, consider rethinking the current one. Changing the Anytime - Download Plus ratio from 1:1 to 1:2 or something similar seems like a sensible choice.
