People slavering to get Apple's "impossibly small" iPod Nano into their sticky hands may want to pause a moment: those ahead of them in the queue have discovered that it's also unbelievably easy to scratch the screen, nixing its photo-displaying abilities.

Apple's discussion forums are already host to a 188-post thread on the topic, where people have spotted that the plastic used for the screen and front of the product is as sensitive as a Kate Moss sponsor.

/me makes mental note to avoid the Nano at all costs !
 
I've heard there have been many many many complaints re the screen. If you do get one a) dont remove the clear sticker or b) if you have then put another on!
 
Apple makes a "nano tube" (kid you not) ... a rubber skin that protects your Nano.
 
A bit OT, but does anyone know where I can buy replacement "plastic screen covers" like the one that comes on the Ipod Nano. It also comes on cell phones.

Basically, I want a biggish size that I can cut down to the right size
 
No No No. Bad consumers - baaaaaad consumers.
Take your product back to the manufacturer and insist on replacement screens, or a new product, or free nano tube's, make a big fuss, don't take this carp from them.

I can't believe how quiet the Americans are being about all this - they're usually the first to cry foul !

Apple can sell a turd in a box and call it the iTurd and people will still line up to buy it.

If you are a marketing person then Apple will make a very interesting case study about the power of branding.

Incredible Corruption sells the "Fellows WriteRight Micro-Thin Screen Protectors™" which I currently use. Think they come in a pack of 12.

BTW - if only South Africans complained as much as Americans! We'd be a lot better off!

Just buy a c0ndom and pull it over the nano, much cheaper option.
