So since I got a nice new fancy camera, and since I really need to get out there and meet people, I thought I'd try to combine the two and join a photography club (because great as this forum is, I'd like to actually physically meet people, in person).

Can anyone recommend any in Cape Town (Southern Suburbs)? I came across the "Creative Camera Club" who meet in Wynberg; anyone know anything about them? I'd obviously prefer a club where there are people I might have something in common with (other than photography, of course!)

Lets start our own Thunda.com website and take pics of dronk people?

You can go out and take the pics (and make some "friends" along the way), we'll do the rest.

Okay, I've already designed the logo and are in the process of registering "DronkPhoties.co.za", now we just need a server to host the site and someone to code the Gallery page

Who's with me?

Yep, that's the list I found on photosa. I was just wondering if anyone had any personal experience with those or other clubs....

I'm wary of camera clubs where the pixels can become more important than the actual image.

Maybe try a few photowalks?

I've been with Creative Camera Club for two years. Its a nice club and you are welcome to come around and see what the vibe is like before you join. The level in club varies from beginners with muk-en-druks to a few seasoned hobbyists with 1Ds and 70-200 2.8L lenses. We don't have many working pros. All the info is on the website. Unfortunately you just missed our meeting which was on Monday - but do join for the next one.

Thanks, I probably will come to the next meeting. Do I need to email someone to arrange it, or can I just turn up?

This has got to be the most moronic thread necro yet
