Article: Chicken-eating patrons flee as ATM blown up

This shouldn't be happening at all. In Canada ATMs have anti theft mechanisms. If the ATMs are forced open or exposed to excessive force the cash is automatically soaked in ink, rendering the money useless. Why don't SA ATMs have this feature since they are bombed every other week?

That's an awesome anti-theft measure.

I hope the patrons sitting down took their plates with them. Free meal lol.

Our ATMs do have this type of safety measure, but you can't guarantee that all bills will be coated in ink unfortunately.

AFAIK and have seen only the corners get inked, and then you can still use the money at little spaza shops :D

Well then it should have a system where the cash is incinerated. Cash up in smoke = no more idiots with bombs and guns.

Hopefully no live chickens were around (apart from the human ones, that is!)

Just a thought

not a week passes y without an ATM bombing story or something of that sort. The surprising thing is that you see banks keep erecting more atms' without any sort of security for the ATM user or for the money itself a lot of stand alone atms' do not have guards manning them at least. some how i think these guys(banks) benefit from these crimes because if it was costing them they would have done something about it a long time ago.

I know I should not laugh, but when I try to picture this, I do :)

Was it KFC? Nando's? Chicken Licken?

KFC

Sounds great.

Secret explosives in the ATM, it'll make an even bigger hole but the bombers won't expect it! Boom! No more problem, and the bank can claim that the bombers miscalculated in their explosives use. :D:D:D
