Opinions on LG LCD 42LD460 v Sony LCD KDL40EX400

Has anyone had any experience with the LG 42inch LCD 42LD460 TV? I am thinking of buying this or the Sony LCD 40inch KDL40EX400 which I have read is a good quality buy and they are about the same price. I think I would prefer the slightly larger size of the LG if it is as good as the Sony.
 
goto dion wired. Tell them u a doctor . Ask them to put the 2 tvs next to each other and use the same content (like an hd soccer match) than u see why sony is better.

Makro has a special on atm. Sony 40EX400 with a DSTV PVR2 for 8499.00. That is an excellent price. If money is not an issue, why not go for the 40EX500. it is 100Hz Bravia 3 engine, its is ~3k more than the EX400.
 
Thanks for the replies. Yes I have seen the offer at Makro.

My usage will be mainly watching DSTV, both HD and SD given the few HD channels available so far. So viewing SD is a consideration. But it is a must on occasions, to be able to connect a PC, external hard drives, etc, to see digital camera still and video, (JPEG) plus watching DVD's and soon blu-ray.

Does this effect the choice, particularly size in respect of watching SD channels? Does that get worse with a larger screen?
