Sound like good news, but I would like to see the networks provide an option to block all WASP transactions, similar to international call barring. I've been cheated out of over R50 by MTN in the past year and that is what I've picked up, who knows how much have gone unnoticed. Yes I blame MTN for this, because my money goes from me directly to them. The excuse offered is as quoted above, but that imply that I am stupid which I'm not. I don't use that particular phone for wap or internet browsing at all. Instead of wasting even more money and time trying to get rid of the WASP, I just destroyed the sim and went to 8ta.
 
Vodacom has implemented a blocking mechanism for all OBS transactions and created an error code for this purpose. This was communicated to all WASPs on 21 October 2010. From 1 December 2010 any billing attempt that returns error code 41 will represent "subscriber locked for content billing". Don't expect this feature to be marketed widely.
