Why does vodacom make it so god damn hard to upgrade my w595 firmware?!

So i bought a vodafone branded w595 in january and tried to update the firmware via sony ericsson's update program only to learn that there are no updates for my phone available. So i go to a vodacom store I ask them if there's a way to update my firmware, the lady there tells me i have to take to a vodacare outlet but get this there are only 2 in kzn one in the cbd and one in gateway. right now my phone's firmware is corrupt and if I want to update my options are drive into the hellhole that is the durban cbd or drive the other end of world to fix my phone. Why the hell doesn't vodacom make their firmware available on the sony ericsson update server?

Disclaimer : this could lead to a bricked phone...but i debranded my Satio a few months ago(not htat it helped cos SE does not support that phone anyway)
