Hi guys,

How the hell do you cancel services from Telkom and make sure they remain dead?

010C00093745 2010-11-16 R 1,500.00 Open
910A0014827K 2010-10-13 R 800.00 Reject
005C00085144 TIN1126507 2010-06-02 R 298.00 Reject

These are disputes of mine, look at the first one at the bottom, thats AFTER I tried cancelling two 5 gig accounts, MONTHS ago, every single month they have billed me over and over again and everytime I asked them to stop.

What are the chances of me claiming back the R1500+ credit they owe me by having them trace when the last time was these accounts were used?

**Notice how they binded the two ISP accounts into one ammount - R298, and they have the balls to tell me only ONE ISP dispute was logged...... **

You mean what are the chances of getting Telkom to do the right thing? I believe we all already know the chances are ZERO!

Have you done all this on the phone or in a shop. I never cancel over the phone and never had problems. Cancel, get a reference nr and go back to the shop if there is any problems. They credited me every time if they charged by mistake. 5 months is a bit long for a cancellation.

Unless you signed a contract or something...

adsl must be cancelled via fax... silly but thats what telkom require.

I think my saving grace with this dispute is that ive logged on 5 months ago asking WTF they didnt cancel those two ISP accounts, at least I have proof. Phoned them today to ask if the matter was being attended to, so it doesnt go unhandled and rejects again.

I've always gone in store and never had problems, only excellent service.

+1. Any Cancellations must definitely be done in a store. Strangely enough, as you mentioned, service was always fast and friendly.

Guess what guys, nothing has happend, the accounts still arent cancelled, and now im staring down the barrel at a R1900 telkom bill and a R600 Web Africa bill, thats R2500, without making ONE phone call.

Is it possible to sue Telkom?

I cancelled my account in-store. They did not disconnect my service but luckily they stopped billing me.

So ATM I'm getting free internet which is great, but I'm afraid what will happen when they discover their mistake.

Yes, take them to the small claims court.
