It is like having your own little pigspotter in the car with you. I wonder what Wayne Minnaar will have to say about this. Are they (metro police) going to arrest the TomTom company or arrest people with TomToms?

You took the words out of my mouth!! I was going to say " Just like your own personal little pig spotter in your pocket!"
 
I long for the day when software upgrades would enable users to tap into the new features, instead of having to buy a new device altogether. I know these are considered consumer products but for R3k... :confused: This goes for all other products like monochoice decoders. I acknowledge this may not always be possible especially where new hardware and/or firmware is required to introduce new functionality, but it seems even in these days where there are so many effective modern development methodologies we resort to tactical schemes. Probably (the love of) money is the root of all evil:sick:
 
Honestly, I wouldn't waste my money purchasing this. I have a Garmin Nuvi and it works perfect for me. Implementing intricacy is not what we need while driving xD

You cannot be serious. I am not sure what the new Tom Tom does but I downloaded a version to my iPhone and I can navigate to photographs and to any point on the map. I have a Nuvi but Tom Tom is seriously better.

It really has that view as mentioned above. Whenever u exit or enter freewway intersections it shows that view in detail, quite awsome.
The live services really works, saved me hours of traffic jams. I also have the 750 live.
 
Does anybody have any idea how the live traffic technology works. Is there a sim card installed in the tomtom GPS? does Tomtom tap into peoples cell phones? I've searched the net but can't seem to find any conclusive information. Can anybody steer me to a site that explains how it works?
