Standard Bank pulls out of sport

Makes sense... they can't be handing out money while retrenching their own employees pleading poverty on the side. In fact they should have started by getting out of sponsorship.
And you close your account so they can retrench one more person. The logic fail is strong with this one.
 
SB is really struggling and they only have themselves to blame.

not really...

Been with std bank for a long while now and everything about them seems to be spiralling downhill..rather fast.

Their luducrious banking fees are not much of a help either.... much better banking solutions available elsewhere.

Me closing my account would not make a difference in the grand design of their corporate strategy... Care to share how much their executives are getting paid + perks + share options, not to forget the stake the Bank of China has taken in.

Logic fail...i dont think so....

They get paid bonuses according to how well the department does.... so this Christmas should be a silent one.
 
Lets hope Their BEE Board Members and Gravy Train Passengers get their Bonuses and Dividends and,and,and.....
 
Well I just played my part in another retrenchment today. After 20 years they treat you like you just joined. Took my money to the bank starting with a C. Cheap cheap.
 
About time. I want a bank that's a bank, with banking service put first; not a sports charity.

Well on Thursday they announced internally that 25000 staff members are each being given a R500 shopping voucher. With that costing R12.5mil they clearly not phased about throwing money around.
 
Yay opens the door for the ANCYL to take over the bank! Did'nt Julius say he wants a bank? I can just imagine the canoe king turning the bank around overnight with his brilliant understanding of economics and free market enerprise!
 
by the end of this year only two banks will be left operational ....

At this rate there will only be 2 Banks- the Blood Bank and the Sperm Bank!

And before you know it, these two will merge, and the whole place will be full of bloody ****ers.
 
They say all the banks are in trouble, ABSA is the next one that's going to start retrenchments.
 
I wouldnt worry... If Standard Bank get deeper in to a financial crisis, the Govt will rescue them (aka Taxpayer). The Govt has bailed ABSA out of the poo twice in the last 15 years - so why not SB
