Should I worry?
I rooted using RyanZa's app and didnt need to hold any buttons when booting up.
I tried, but I cant do it anyway. Seems its disabled on my phone. Anyway, should I worry?

Ouch!
whoa, I didn't even know you can root your phone without entering recovery mode. But no, there's no need to worry at all. You'll only need recovery mode later when you want to customize your phone even further....we'll cross that bridge when we get to it

Well, I chickened out after not receiving any replies during the night, so I reveresed the lag fix, removed the root and restored my phone to factory settings.
I am going to do it propperly today by applying the recovery mode patch and then flashing to Froyo.
One question: does this kill the waranty?

Did the same to mine, but now it seems it lags before i did not notice anything.
Anyway to check on phone if root was done or not.

Use adb for rebooting into recovery and download mode on your PC. Much easier than doing the manual phone method, unless you use something like Quick Boot.

Def get your 3br working.. Not even adb will be able to help you if u screw up a flash... Proper download and recovery is a must.

Short for 3 button recovery.. Its a must.. When i flashed from jm9 to jpo via odin. My phone was stuck at the galaxy s logo then black screen.. Had to boot into recovery, wipe and reset.. Sorted. If it wasnt working.. I would be screwed hehehe..
