I managed to find some time to pop in to a Game store this weekend, just to see if they were selling the data bundles, and they were. So my alternative for those wishing to get the 60GB bundle but who aren't willing to splash the R3k upfront:
Take the Samsung E250 on a Vodacom contract for R135pm & use the R3k Game voucher to buy the Cell C data bundle :)
For (135x24) + 202 = R3442 u get to have the bundle PLUS a phone (albeit a crappy one, but u can still sell it for a bit of cash) AND 120 offpeak minutes a month for 24 months :D

I was thinking of taking out one of those 'crappy' phone contracts for the R3k to pay towards a decent LCD. Good idea but it's just the 24 month contract part that worries me.

Great way of getting what's effectively an interest free loan.

Damn, this works out cheap. I only need a R1999 bundle so will have another R1000 to splash out as well.
Better than paying R300pm to CellC for the 5GB pm contract.
R135pm (over 24 months) vs R300pm (over 12 months) for the same thing ignoring the free minutes and phone.

Pretty awesome idea. Thanks mate. I was thinking of getting a second 60 GB bundle.

Use the R3k to buy the 5Gig Sim, exchange the leftover voucher for 1k cash. (Ask a friend/relative who buys something biggish from GAME to use the voucher)
Use that 1k to exclusively for paying off the data sim. So you'll be paying R2442 at the end and get a phone.

edit
lol, if you can do the above than you'll eventually end up paying R100 interest over two years. This is assuming you already have a dongle,.
