In the past 7 days, I have tried to pre book a 60GB package three times, without any response, whatsoever.

I have complained to Trevor - again with no response.

I have sent e-mails to their customer service department - no joy.

I have PM'ed the CellC representative on this forum - again, no response.

Is this a sign of things to come?

AFAIK the prebookings were only done before the product became freely available - now you just go and buy it.

I prebooked, and they did call me when the 60GB package became available - only by that time I had bought bundles in Umhlanga and at Dion Hyde Park, so I no longer needed it.

I'm sure you know the answer to that already - if they are sloppy from Day one....well.....you figure out the rest.

I have also decided not to join - I'm not blowing R3000 for a shot in the dark, and R2 p/meg OOB rates, and R400 2GB bundles.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised at all. Seems to be an industry norm!

Looks like "Tell Trevor" is a lot of BS and can be considered false advertising?

I am just so tired of paying through the neck for Vodacom's data bundles. That would be my ONLY reason for changing ISPs.

@ Keeper: Yes, that worries me, too. Is there a money back guarantee?

So you think that it's better to pay R389 for 2.3GB with VC ??

Good luck, my Cell C works well, and is cheap enough that I don't worry if a GB or two expires at the end of the month.

Mine is working great hey!! There's always Vodacom and MTN at like 4 times the price

I wanted to get it on contract... They told me the contract doesn't exist.... long long story... But it's finally sorted now...

Ur...Why prebook when you can walk into a cell c shop and buy the bundle? OR you could order it from Cell C direct 084145 (free from cell c phone), free delivery (ask for Mary-Jane, She helped me get a Samsung Galaxy S when it was out of stock).

Try Game or CNA....when I was looking CellC stores seemed to have run out but Game had plenty in stock.

BTW, does anyone know what happens at the end of the 12 month period?

Will one be able to repeat the exercise at the same price?

I'll worry about that after the 12months expire. It's not like I'm overpaying and stuck on only 2GiG per month.
Can now just sit back relax and watch Vodacom/MTN/CellC go at it.

Been with Cell C for 2 months.
TellTrevor is a lot of BS
The in-store service is excellent
The package is a bargain.
Speed doesn't really concern me, but it is excellent!

Thanks for all the responses, you guys!

I understand that I may have tried to pre book after the fact, but it's really a matter of principle. They could have just responded with a "no need to pre book ..." call or e-mail.

What irks me is the complete lack of interest from all parties concerned. By the way, is the CellC rep missing in action? He has yet to reply to my PM and answer some of my questions and confirm certain statements that have been made on this forum.

Anyway, I'll wait until the 2nd or 3rd to buy, as someone here suggested, just in case there is a chance of scoring an extra 5 gigs. ;)

Hi, I also find the cell c rep on mybb and their call centre fairly useless. I am not sure what brief the cell c rep has on how to handle mybb queries as I also found he ignores pm, whereas vodacom rep and even neotels hugo are super fast to respond to pm queries.

Their marketing and Tell Trevor is all just a lot of hype and you will receive the usual rubbish corporate non reponse.

Where cell c are winning though, is that the product is faster and cheaper at the moment.

I find the dongle a tad moody and a small shift in direction can make a huge difference to how it connects, but overall this is first time I have been able to watch youtube or any online videos.
I downloaded 2gb in super fast time, and it is overall 100x better than neotel.
I have currently the 7.1mbs dongle and it connects and downloads from international at almost max speed. It does have moments when it drops connection, or battles to connect and I have to switch on/off, move USB but I will be getting the 5GB bundle as well as overall it is far less frustrating and not as expensive as neotel, who with their flex system is no where close to the cell c speeds.
