Hi

I have a PC with TV card connected into my home network. How can I stream the signal from the TV card to other devices in my home e.g. iPhone. My home network is on wifi.

I have read that it is possible to do such using VLC - has anybody got any experience with this ?

Hey Obelix

Can you please let me know what model TV card you used on your linux box? Hows the picture quality?

Yup, I have done it before but about 4/5 years ago :)

If you look hard enough (and Google) you will find the answer. Basically, you say open capture card, choose the right type of card and device (windows will list them) and then stream it in decent format. Decent meaning in a compressed enough format your network can handle and in a format you player can handle, be it windows media player, iphone or even VLC again.

Doing this is possible but must be willing to spend time on it due to the large amount of options and settings you can change to get it working properly.
