Is that you can not successfully dispute fees.

If I get billed incorrectly by any creditor I simply withold payment until the invoice is sorted out - both personal and business, however with banks you can't withold payment, hence they just send you in a never ending circle and the dispute never gets resolved as they still get their fees regardless.

What is your biggest gripe with banks?

The people who work for them - mediocre creatures who sponge off my money :)

I remember when I was younger it was always people that didn't have a career or trade that ended up working for the banks.

Mmmm, that the interest rate on my one car loan is too high (Wesbank) and that they (ABSA) keep trying to sell me stupid crap, insurance on this and that.

Used to be there was no Capitec branch near me but now there is, so nothing to complain about.

Seems Blu hit a nerve. Do you work for a bank Obelix? Are you mediocre? :)

No i dont, but ive been with one bank my entire life and cant fathom why eveone else is up in arms. I havent had a days trouble with my bank. When i want something i got to them and they give it to me. When my request is unreasonable ( which has happened at times ) they tell me so and we move on. I dont start calling them names and searing blue murder. They are afterall in the business of making money and you are the source of this money. If you dont like what theyre doing, move on.... simple really...

It is called the right of the customer to service excellence - know your rights :)

excellence to who's standards?
I kinda agree here, if you are unhappy, move banks or make another plan

Sometimes in life, you move on and at other times, you make a fuss and get your point across and get the services you are entitled to.

It is a fine line and you need to know when to choose which option.

I have. When I started working I was with Standard Bank, then moved to Absa, and around Feb this year I moved to Absa. The problem is the same everywhere. They deem their charges to be untouchable and undisputable simply due to them having direct access to your account.

or have unrealistic expectations?
I have not really had much issues with my banking

Judging from the avalanche of threads on that very topic, lots of people have indeed had trouble - often.

Maybe you're just lucky.
