Why does no one on here talk about Panasonic it seems like its all LG , Samsung(very big) and Sony. What is wrong with Panasonic?
I went into Audio Vision yesterday at Canal Walk and the sales guy was trying to sell me the 42' Panasonice Viesa Plasma over the Samsung C450, he recons the Panasonic was far better than the Samsung and it also comes with a 4 year warranty.
Anyone have any comments as the Panasonice is a lot more than the Samsung?

Panasonics are excellent when it comes to plasmas (I think they currently make the best one in the world). All I can say is that the Samsung PS42C430 42" plasma is a fantastic screen especially for TV/sport. 4 year warranty is pretty good though with the Panny seeing as the Samsung has 1 year. Guess you'd have to compare them side-by-side to see whether it's worth the extra.
I see your 430 is running at R5999 at Taffelbergs(little cheaper at house and home) and the C450 is R6999 but sales guy says why pay extra R1000 for the FM transmitter not sure whether the engine is better on the 450 than the 430?. Yet the Panny in Audio Vision is R7695.00 not sure I would get it cheaper anywere else as I do not know any other suppliers that sells Panasonics but the 4 year warranty is tempting.

Does the C450 have a FM transmitter, and the C430 doesn't? First I heard. I have the C450.
No, both panels are identical as far as I know. Biggest difference I found was the extra HDMI port on the C450.
I've heard Audio Vision, perhaps at the Waterfront, have the C430 for R5600ish.
sorry thought you said you had the C430 maybe misread your post, got the Panasonic book and it says the C450 has an FM transmitter, anyway something I am not interested in. I guess you don;t know what if any difference is with the C430 and C431 ?

I tend to recommend the C430 as it's cheaper than the C450 and much the same.
I'd imagine the C431 is an updated model. I have not seen much information on it yet though, not even on a Samsung website.
Decided on the Sammie in the end and was going to get the 42'' but when I looked at that and the 50'' just had to spend the extra and get the C450B, its such a stunning TV and glad I went for the 50'' instead. Anyone have the calibration details for this TV as I can not find on Sammie web?
All I need to do not is get my dstv hooked up as terestrial TV not doing it for this TV. Just watched the Kings of Leon dvd and it is fantastic !!
